Beacon 19 Boat Ramp, Goolwa South

An adult male long-nosed fur seal was first reported sick and emaciated by the jetty at Beacon 19 Boat Ramp, Goolwa South, on 13 February. The official report records that DEW subsequently killed the animal because a veterinarian was unavailable to euthanise it.

Glenelg Beach, south of the breakwater

A subadult male long-nosed fur seal was first reported south of the Glenelg breakwater on 11 February. It was still breathing but critically unwell with a cut flipper and was subsequently euthanised.

Grange Beach

A female Australian sea lion was observed looking sick at Grange Beach on 29 January. The DEW marine team assessed it as emaciated and subsequently euthanised it.

Nora Creina

The 2014 study identifies this animal as a subantarctic fur seal. A subadult male was alive in poor condition on the beach and departed several days later. The structured species field is unset because Seal Watch does not offer this taxon.
